Phyna makes first appearance online after sisters death

Phyna’s First Appearance After Her Sister’s Death – What We Can All Learn About Healing

If you’ve been on the streets of Nigerian internet this week, then you already know the gist. 👀 Our girl, Phyna (yes, Big Brother Naija Level Up winner), finally made her first public appearance after the painful loss of her sister, Ruth. And trust Nigerians na, the video went viral faster than NEPA light dey take disappear.

Now, let’s be honest — we all know Phyna for her energy, her no-sending-anybody vibes, and the way she carries herself like the queen she is. But seeing her step out after such a heartbreaking time? That one touch everybody differently. Because behind the glitz, the fans, and the camera lights, she’s still human. She’s a sister. She’s a daughter. She’s a woman carrying pain. 💔

The Side Talk We All Saw Online

Of course, internet people must talk. Some were happy: “Thank God she’s outside, we missed her energy.”

Some were dragging as usual: “Ah ah, she don dey move on already?” 🙄

And that’s the thing about grief — outsiders never understand the timing. If you stay hidden too long, they’ll say you’re milking sympathy. If you show face too early, they’ll say you moved on. Na who dey inside the shoe sabi how e dey pinch.

Grief No Get Manual

Losing someone close? It’s like your whole world pauses but life around you no send. Bills still dey knock. Work still dey pile up. Social media still dey move like nothing happened. And that’s the hardest part — trying to balance your pain with the world’s pressure to “keep it moving.”

Phyna showing up again doesn’t mean she’s “over it.” It simply means she’s learning how to live with it. And honestly, that’s the true definition of healing. You don’t erase grief; you just carry it differently.

What We Can All Learn

1. Healing doesn’t have a timer. Whether it’s 3 weeks or 3 years, nobody has the right to dictate when you should smile again.

2. Showing up doesn’t mean you’re not hurting. Sometimes the bravest thing is to face the world, even when your heart is heavy.

3. People will talk regardless. If Phyna had stayed indoors, they’d say she’s “drowning in sorrow.” She stepped out, they say “too early.” Moral of the story: live for you, not for the comment section.

4. Community matters. Whether it’s fans, friends, or family, having people to hold you up when life throws you down is priceless.

My Take 🗣️

Seeing Phyna smile again — even if small — is a reminder that life doesn’t wait for us to heal. And as women, as sisters, as hustlers trying to balance everything, we need to learn that it’s okay to take our time, it’s okay to cry, and it’s okay to get back up again when we’re ready.

So, if you’re reading this and you’ve ever lost someone, or you’re going through something heavy right now — let Phyna’s return be your sign: you’re allowed to breathe, you’re allowed to laugh again, and you’re allowed to step out when you feel ready. Forget the noise, just do you. ❤️

What do you think about Phyna’s comeback? Too soon, or just perfect timing? Let’s gist in the comments below

  1. This is a sensitive issue. And I think it is too early to do that. I also think she should have grief her for at least two to three weeks. The deceased is her sister and not just a colleague or an acquaintance.
    Thanks
